Visitors, Touring and "OMG PROJECTS"!

So first of all I just thought I would warn you before you start reading that this post has no real depth to it. JUST LOTS OF UPDATES!

I have been very busy....
... in the best way possible, no doubt!

For the last couple of days, I have been hanging out with one of my friend's from Andrew's first training in Alabama: ASBC training. Even though that training only lasted for 6 weeks, I made some surprisingly strong friendships there. Including this one :)

Brittany and her husband came up to Alaska for red flag training, thus... I got to hang out with her and meet her son CHASE!

Talk about the cutest little boy ever....

He really liked the boat exhibit at the museum

On Wednesday, we went and visited the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

We both learned a lot!

(Once I figure out how to post movies on this thing, I will show you some of the dances they performed for us!)

The lullaby song...

She is dancing to a Halibut fishing song

This hat is known as the hunting hat
(I learned that at the museum we visited on Tuesday!)

Cool costumes!

O, by the way, sometimes the people in the audience know the dances and they got up to participate.

Natives I believe??

Tikis!!

By the way, I look WAY bigger than I feel in this picture.

... But I think I might actually be that big now! Ha!

Brittany and Chase about to enter an Alaskan hut.

Beading and PORCIPINE needles-- this is how they sew. Wow!

Here are some sled dog pups checking out Chase!

They all wanted to see him :)

(This little guy reminds me of our friend, the Hasslers, dog Hank!)

Too cute

Here are the real champs that pull the sled!

And Brit took Chase for his first ride!

Get ready....

...GO!

Having a blast!

These are the remains of a grey whale...
CrAzY!

The ceremonial blessing of the kayaks..

The natives on the other side have received them
(which is good-- or else, they would have probably died... phew!)

We had a great time and definitely learned a lot.
Can't wait to take my family here!

Speaking of prepping for our family, I am PUSHING ON in my projects so I can enjoy the time they will be visiting WITHOUT A THOUGHT DEDICATED TO PROJECTS
... man, I can not wait!

Here is the latest on our room.
Very temporal, as you can tell, but our room just needed something to spice it up a bit ;)

As far as the hamper system goes, who KNOWS what I am going to do here....

Baby Elyse's room is coming along nicely though!

I have added banners to the wall too :)

(And a carrier just in case she decides to pull a fast one-- I'm ready Elyse!)

I finished the mobile.
Not exactly how I intended it to turn out,
but I am entirely satisfied.
And its unique.
Just like I like it.
:)

(And no mom, I still haven't done anything to the bird picture... I WILL GET THERE!
But not tonight... tomorrow isn't looking so good either....)

This little guy is my favorite though!
It's an owl doorstop that I made!
Elyse's door doesn't like the stay opened (like the majority of doors in our house) so I made this little guy, filled him with rocks and put him to work.
He does his job well.

I am working on filling our house with meaningful art and pictures.

This one is dedicated to my dad after the conversation we had Tuesday ;)

.. Some framed fruit of the spirit...

...And I gave my husband the privacy he has been begging for in the form of roman shades in our kitchen.

More framed art and a scrapbook tree

Our house really lacks lighting...
So I am working on that, one creative idea at a time!

That's all folks!

Like I said, not much to really say... partially because I am exhausted and need to get to sleep.

And I am going to do that now.

Enjoy!

More to come after this weekend-- I guarentee it!!

Blessings-- XOXO
